Simon brings ten years of experience in the baking industry from technical, training and developments roles and a whole lot of passion for beautiful breads.
At Silverleaf Artisan Bakery we are passionate about good food and great bread. We take pride in producing quality products from scratch using quality wholesome ingredients. Our breads are free from preservatives with no nasty artificial ingredients often found in commercial breads from the supermarket.
Good bread takes time, patience and a lot of love, we prepare and bake our hand crafted breads and treats fresh in our bakery every day of the week. We understand the dietary requirements of different households and have a large range of healthy breads so there will be something the whole family can enjoy.

What is Sourdough Bread?
It all begins with our Levain (also known as (‘starter’).
Levain is made by mixing flour and water, and continually feeding with a 50/50 ratio of flour and water daily. This is used as a leavening agent and sometimes called "wild yeast."
The starter is combined with flour, water and salt to form a dough. This dough is moulded by hand into shape and left to ferment for 15 hours, enabling the flavour and natural yeasts to develop.
